BP MARKOWITZ STATEMENT ON RESIGNATION OF BROOKLYN PUBLIC LIBRARY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR DIONNE MACK-HARVIN

“As executive director of the Brooklyn Public Library, Dionne Mack-Harvin has been a visionary leader who promoted literacy, launched the Support Our Shelves campaign and enhanced the Library’s status as one of the top systems in America. Dionne earned her position the old fashioned way—working her way up from humble beginnings as a librarian at the Crown Heights branch in 1996. My office looks forward to providing any assistance as the Brooklyn Public Library searches for Dionne’s successor, and I wish her well as she writes the next chapter in her life story.”
