CARLO A. SCISSURA, BROOKLYN BOROUGH PRESIDENT’S CHIEF OF STAFF, APPOINTED BY MAYOR BLOOMBERG TO NEW YORK CITY CHARTER REVISION COMMISSION

On March 3, 2010, Carlo A. Scissura, chief of staff to Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, was appointed by Mayor Michael Bloomberg to the New York City Charter Revision Commission. The Commission is charged with reviewing the entire Charter of the City of New York, holding hearings in all five boroughs to solicit public input and issuing a report outlining findings and recommendations to amend or revise the Charter.

“I believe it’s imperative the borough presidents have a strong voice on the Charter Revision Commission, and I am grateful and honored to be appointed by Mayor Bloomberg to serve with my esteemed colleagues,” said Scissura. “I anticipate the Commission will be reviewing any number of issues important to New Yorkers and soliciting input from the community, civic organizations and others, and I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting to work on the best course for New York City’s bright future.”

“Carlo’s experience as an attorney and chief of staff, his thorough knowledge of city government and his service on a community school board, community education council and community board, will bring an informed perspective to the Commission’s work,” said BP Markowitz.
