BP MARKOWITZ KICKS OFF SEVENTH ANNUAL “DINE IN BROOKLYN”: THREE COURSES, NO ATTITUDE ON THE SIDE!
Nearly 200 restaurants to serve up Brooklyn’s tastiest “eats” from March 15 – March 25; this year’s event also to help raise funds for “Share the Table” hunger campaign

On Tuesday, March 2, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz hosted a press “tasting” at Brooklyn Borough Hall to officially announce the seventh annual “Dine in Brooklyn” event (March 15 – March 25) featuring nearly 200 of Brooklyn’s best eateries serving up three-course dinner menus for just $25, three-course lunches for $20.10 and even some “two for the price of one” deals at participating restaurants (list below).

Patrons will also have the opportunity to contribute to Share the Table, a fundraising campaign with the New York City Coalition Against Hunger (NYCCAH). The generosity of Dine in Brooklyn customers and others will help meet the immediate food needs of low-income families in Brooklyn by supporting food purchases for the Brooklyn Alliance of Community Services, as well as expanding and improving the programs and policies necessary to enable low-income Brooklyn families to achieve greater economic self-sufficiency and move beyond their need for emergency food pantries and soup kitchens.

“New Yorkers and visitors alike have discovered that the culinary epicenter of America is right here in Brooklyn,” said BP Markowitz. “Whether you fancy the French fare in Brooklyn’s ‘Bastille Day hot spot’ Carroll Gardens, want to savor some sushi, ‘bib up’ for barbeque or ‘mangia’ some mostacholi—or you want to sample eclectic ethnic food from everywhere on the planet from Mexico to the Middle East, from Russia to Bangladesh, from Australia to Turkey, or are simply looking for comfort food American-style—in Brooklyn, your table is waiting!”

Select establishments will be cooking up “two-fer” brunch and lunch menus this year—just $20.10 covers brunch and lunch for two—as well as two-for-$25 dinner menus. Offerings vary by restaurant, so patrons must call establishments in advance to verify their Dine in Brooklyn menus and reservation policies. BP Markowitz also reminds everyone to be generous and properly tip their wait staff.

Dine in Brooklyn is an initiative of the Brooklyn Borough President’s Office and Best of Brooklyn, Inc. Generous sponsors include American Express, TD Bank, Time Out New York (media sponsor), Brooklyn Brewery, Brooklyn Restaurant Association, New York State Restaurant Association, Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and Great Kosher Restaurants magazine.
