BP MARKOWITZ, PAKISTANI COMMUNITY TO URGE BROOKLYNITES, NEW YORKERS TO AID FLOOD-RAVAGED PAKISTAN

On Wednesday, August 25, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will join members of the Pakistani community and elected officials to urge Brooklynites and all New Yorkers to generously support flooding relief efforts in Pakistan. Among those scheduled to attend the press conference at Brooklyn Borough Hall:
- Ainul Haque, director, Muslim Day Parade
- Imrana Khera and Amina Ahmed, community organizers – families affected by flooding, including hardest hit district of Muzaffargargh
- Dr. Faiz Khan, a doctor who just returned from Pakistan, where he viewed the devastation firsthand
- Linda Sarsour, director, Arab American Association of New York
- Moe Razvi, Council of Peoples Organizations (COPO)
- Bazah Roohi, director, Minority Women’s Association
- Megan Putney, Muslim Consultative Network
- Ahsan Chughtai, editor, Sada-E-Pakistan
- Kasif Akhter, Pakistani leader
