On behalf of Brooklynites and all New Yorkers, I congratulate Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as she prepares to bring her expertise, experience and passion for fighting for human rights worldwide to the Cabinet of President Barack Obama. Here in the global village of Brooklyn, where our residents hail from 93 ethnic groups and 150 nations and speak 136 different languages, we are thrilled that our dynamic former senator will be helping President Obama repair the damage that has been done by the Bush administration these past eight years, reinstate the best traditions of our nation’s international diplomacy, and restore global trust in America. New York's loss is definitely the world's gain, and we wish our new Secretary of State well as she embarks on this new path in her extraordinary career as a dedicated and tireless public servant.
