JOB OPPORTUNITIES WITH THE NYS COURTS FOR OUR NEIGHBORHOODS
The New York State Unified Court System has a need for court
interpreters in various foreign languages and in Sign Language. Court
Interpreters provide interpreting between English and foreign languages
(as well as sign language), in the courtroom and related legal settings.
The court system has provided interpreters in over 100 languages,
including but not limited to: Albanian, Arabic, Bengali, Bosnian,
Burmese, Cantonese, Croatian, Dutch, French, Greek, Haitian Creole,
Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, Kurdish, Laotian,
Mandarin, Polish, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Somali, Spanish,
Tagalog, Vietnamese, Urdu and Wolof. Opportunities are currently
available on a part-time and/or freelance basis. The rate of pay is $140
for a half-day (up to four hours) or $250 for a full day.
