BP MARKOWITZ HONORS PARK SLOPE BROTHERS WHO DONATED PIGGY BANK SAVINGS TO HAITI EARTHQUAKE RELIEF

On Wednesday, March 17, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz presented congratulatory certificates to brothers Matthew and William Rosa, students at St. Francis Xavier Elementary School in Park Slope who donated $170 they had saved in their piggy banks to Haitian earthquake relief. In all, students raised more than $1,000. Joining the presentation were the boys’ grandmother, Maire O’Connell, Principal Sister Kathleen Sullivan and Haitian student Carl-Joseph Auguste.
