BROOKLYN BOROUGH PRESIDENT’S OFFICE TO MARK WORLD AIDS DAY WITH FREE HIV TESTING/COUNSELING AND AIDS MEMORIAL QUILT DISPLAY AT BOROUGH HALL

On Tuesday, December 1, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will host events at Brooklyn Borough Hall to mark World Aids Day 2009 and this year’s theme “Universal Access and Human Rights.”
From 11am until 3pm, the AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on display in the Courtroom in partnership with EAC Brooklyn TASC, who will also offer free HIV testing, counseling, prevention measures and literature on the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
At noon, the Watchful Eye Testing, Outreach and Prevention Initiative will collaborate with the Caribbean Women’s Health Association to commemorate World Aids Day with music and ceremonies honoring Tracy Mack, Natashua Rice, Pastor Christina Walker and New York City Council Member Al Vann. |
