BP MARKOWITZ JOINS MAYOR BLOOMBERG AT ANNOUNCEMENT TO EXPAND REACTIVATION OF BROOKLYN’S WORKING WATERFRONT

On Monday, July 20, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz joined representatives of the Canadian-based Tim Hortons donuts and coffee chain as they opened two new locations at 22 Court Street and 451 Fulton Street in Downtown Brooklyn.

“Many Canadians call our borough home, and Brooklynites—who, like me, find it difficult to turn away delicious donuts and coffee—welcome them to the big time, Brooklyn, USA,” said BP Markowitz. “For a little Brooklyn twist, they may want to consider tapping into our large religious Jewish population by making a kosher donut and opening some stores in Borough Park. And I just want my wife Jamie to know that I only had a skim decaf cappuccino and one (that I recall) teeny, tiny Timbit donut hole as I welcomed Tim Hortons to Downtown Brooklyn.”
