NOON On Tuesday, July 7, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will join the American Heart Association at a press conference to kick off this year’s anti-obesity and healthy lifestyle campaign, Lighten Up Brooklyn. The press conference will be followed by a health walk from Borough Hall to the promenade in Brooklyn Heights and back. Walking groups of four people or more can sign up at the press event for that day’s walk, as well as to participate in the American Heart Association’s Brooklyn Start! Heart Walk on October 11. Anyone who puts together or joins a walking group will receive “Lighten Up Brooklyn” T-shirts (while supplies last). |
