On Wednesday, August 5, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz joined the Brooklyn Botanic Garden in announcing the winners of the 15th annual Greenest Block in Brooklyn contest. Complete list of winners is attached.
“The Greenest Block in Brooklyn contest is about more than just beautifying our neighborhoods—it’s about fostering communities,” said BP Markowitz. “And let’s not forget that when everybody is out working on their gardening, that means more people getting to know one another, which makes for a tighter-knit, safer and more vibrant community. When we plant seeds, the plants aren’t the only thing we harvest. When we plant seeds—Brooklyn blooms.”
