BP MARKOWITZ, SCHOOLS CHANCELLOR KLEIN, BROOKLYN NAACP, WNET TO HOST BACK TO SCHOOL/STAY IN SCHOOL RALLY

On Thursday, August 20, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will host the fourth annual Back to School/Stay in School rally at Brooklyn Borough Hall, organized by the Borough President’s Office, the Brooklyn Branch of the NAACP, the New York City Department of Education and WNET.org. Scheduled to attend the event are NYC Schools Chancellor Joel Klein and representatives from the Brooklyn NAACP and WNET. At least 2,000 free backpacks, containing essential school supplies, have already been designated to deserving children, including those from foster homes, shelters and juvenile detention centers.
