BP MARKOWITZ, SPECIAL ASSISTANT GRAHAM TO JOIN GOVERNOR PATERSON IN URGING PUBLIC DONATIONS FOR HAITI HURRICANE RELIEF

On Wednesday, September 24, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, Special Assistant to the Borough President Yvonne Graham, Governor David Paterson, elected officials and leaders of the Haitian and Caribbean communities will gather at the National Guard Armory on Bedford Avenue in Crown Heights to call on the public to assist with humanitarian relief efforts in Haiti, which has been ravaged by Hurricanes Gustav, Hanna and Ike as well as Tropical Storm Fay.

Donations of desperately-needed items are being collected at the Armory and the Adam Clayton Powell State Office Building in Harlem.
