BP MARKOWITZ STATEMENT ON FATAL SHOOTING IN BROWNSVILLE

“All of Brooklyn is sickened and outraged over the shooting death of Imonil Aminov as he attempted to deliver Meals on Wheels to the most vulnerable of our residents, and we grieve with his family. Again, as with last month’s fatal shooting at a Fort Greene hair salon and other recent killings in our borough, the proliferation of weapons is to blame. I am hopeful that the election of Barack Obama will turn the tide and force Congress to address an issue that Mayor Bloomberg has been tackling head-on here in New York City, and move to enact real gun and ammunition control.”
