On Thursday, February 28, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will celebrate Black History Month with a gathering at Borough Hall.

Honorees include Rev. Dr. Cheryl G. Anthony, Founder & CEO of Judah International Christian Center, Inc.; Richard E. Green, Chief Executive & President, Crown Heights Youth Collective, Inc.; Lt. Col. John Mulzak, an original Tuskegee Airman; Rodney Leon, designer of the African Burial Ground National Monument; and (posthumously) Frederick Laverpool, founder of “Braggin’ About Brooklyn” Tours.

The event will also highlight Brooklyn Tourism’s New York City Underground Railroad Destination Project with Heritage New York.
