BP MARKOWITZ TO ATTEND PRESS CONFERENCE ANNOUNCING BROOKLYN STEPPERS MARCHING BAND AS PERFORMER IN PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION PARADE

7:00 P.M.
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 10
BOYS AND GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL
1700 FULTON STREET
AT SCHENECTADY AVENUE

On Wednesday, December 10, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will attend a press conference hosted by the Brooklyn Music & Arts Program to announce the Brooklyn Steppers Marching Band as a performer at the 2009 Presidential Inauguration Parade in Washington, DC.

“Kudos to the world-famous Brooklyn Steppers Marching Band for proving that a celebration as big as President-elect Barack Obama’s inauguration calls for unique Brooklyn talent,” said BP Markowitz. “Under the visionary leadership of executive director Tyrone Brown, the Steppers represent the best in music, unbelievable moves, moxie, style and real ‘Brooklyn Attitude,’ which is why presidents, governors, mayors—and even borough presidents—call on them to get the party started. What better way to kick off a historic U.S. presidency! Brooklyn Steppers, you do Brooklyn proud!
