2:00 P.M.
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 6
GRAHAM AVENUE AND COOK STREET
WILLIAMSBURG
On Saturday, December 6, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, along with Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez, the Graham Avenue BID, holiday shoppers and others, will launch a new shopping trolley, the result of a combined initiative with the office of Council Member Diana Reyna. The trolley provides holiday shoppers with a link between the west and east sides of Williamsburg. The event will also highlight “Shop Brooklyn,” a borough-wide initiative of BP Markowitz highlighting the uniqueness of Brooklyn’s neighborhoods and thriving shopping corridors, re-introducing Brooklyn to Brooklynites, and inviting tourists and visitors to experience this cultural and shopping destination—not just during the holidays, but year-round.
Scheduled to join BP Markowitz and Congresswoman Velazquez for the inaugural trolley ride will be event sponsors Ron Moelis, developer of Northside Piers; Leslie Drossman, president of the Graham Avenue BID; and Betty Cooney, executive director of the Graham Avenue BID. Holiday carols will be performed by The Wysiwyg Jr. Actors Group from St. John the Baptist RC Parish.
The holiday trolley runs every weekend, Saturday and Sunday, from noon to 6:00pm from December 6 through 21. For more information and the trolley route, call 718-387-6643.
