BP MARKOWITZ TO HOST SANTA, MULTILINGUAL SINGING OF “JINGLE BELLS” AT BOROUGH HALL’S TREE LIGHTING FESTIVITIES

5:00 PM
MONDAY, DECEMBER 8
BROOKLYN BOROUGH HALL PLAZA
209 JORALEMON STREET

BETWEEN COURT & ADAMS STREETS
DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN

On Monday, December 8, the 40-foot-tall Christmas tree in Brooklyn Borough Hall Plaza—named by Time Out New York as one of the City’s trees “worth seeking out on a cold winter’s night”—will sparkle with holiday colors at the annual lighting ceremony. Celebrants will also enjoy a performance by the Eriksen Elves of Eriksen Translations, singing “Jingle Bells” in at least a dozen international languages spoken right here in Brooklyn.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas without a special guest appearance from Santa Claus, and a lucky child from the audience will be selected to flip the tree lighting switch along with Borough President Markowitz. Historic Borough Hall will also be illuminated with festive red and green lighting.
