BP MARKOWITZ TO HONOR BROOKLYN STUDENTS WHO PARTICIPATED IN “SUMMER HEAT” EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM
THURSDAY, AUGUST 21
11:15 A.M.
BROOKLYN BOROUGH HALL
209 JORALEMON STREET
BETWEEN COURT & ADAMS STREETS
DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN
On Thursday, August 21, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will celebrate the completion of a job well done when he welcomes Summer HEAT (Help Employ Ambitious Teens) participants and employers to Borough Hall.
BP Markowitz will be joined by participating employers and students who worked for the Summer HEAT program, the Borough President’s summer youth employment program that encourages Brooklyn businesses to invest in young people through employment. In the last few years, hundreds of teens between the ages of 16 and 18 have been hired through HEAT.
Good work habits such as getting to work on time, dressing for success, and learning to start and complete projects and tasks are critical skills that Brooklyn teens gain during Summer HEAT. This event is an opportunity to say thank you to our partners and congratulations to the students who have started on the path to becoming successful adults in the workforce.
