BP MARKOWITZ WELCOMES RELIGIOUS AND CORPORATE LEADERS TO ANNUAL SPRING CLERGY BREAKFAST AT BOROUGH HALL

On April 9, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz and Special Assistant to the Borough President Yvonne Graham hosted a panel discussion and breakfast at Brooklyn Borough Hall, during which religious and business leaders addressed the issue of faith-based institutions serving as community resources.

Panelists included the Reverend Dr. Herbert Daughtry, Pastor of the House of the Lord Church and President of the Downtown Brooklyn Neighborhood Alliance; Paul Kerzner, Manager of Con Edison’s Renaissance Housing Program; Alan Goodman, Executive Director, Brooklyn Bureau of Community Service; Moses Mansu, Assistant Director of Office of Minority Health for NYC DOHMH; Louis Jerome, Sephardic Food Fund; and Reverend Dr. Samuel Sierra, Executive Director, Teen Challenge.

Other attendees included Michael Flanigan, Director of Community Relations, Citibank; Thomas Newell, Vice President of Brooklyn Electric Operations, Con Edison; Imam Ekrem Ozcan, Turkish American Islamic Center; and Rabbi Joseph Potasnik, Executive Vice President, New York Board of Rabbis.
