BROOKLYN BOROUGH HALL
209 JORALEMON STREET

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN

On Tuesday, September 25, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will join the leadership of Brooklyn’s Muslim communities to mark Ramadhan and announce the third annual Ramadhan Iftar break-fast to be held after sundown on Wednesday, September 26, at the Brooklyn Borough Hall Rotunda.

Erhan Yildirim of the United American Muslim Association; Mohammed Razvi, Executive Director of the Council of Peoples Organization (COPO); Wael Mousfar of the Arab Muslim American Foundation; 2007 Pace Law School graduate and Brooklyn resident Faiza Ali; Adem Carroll of Muslim Consultative Network; and Amir Abdul Akbar of Caribbean-American Program Empowerment (CAPE) will also attend.

Ramadhan is the annual month-long Muslim holiday during which Muslims fast each day from sunrise to sundown, pray, and make donations to charity. Brooklyn’s diverse Muslim community includes more than 50 mosques, as well as schools, social services and many thousands of Muslim Americans.
