BP MARKOWITZ HOSTS POLISH-AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH CELEBRATION

On Wednesday, October 24, Borough President Marty Markowitz hosted an evening of food, dance and celebration to mark Polish-American Heritage Month.

The Borough President honored Jacek Bikowski, North Brooklyn Development Corporation Tenant Advocate and Consultant; Halina Kalitka, the Musical Heart of Brooklyn’s Polonia; Alice Karpinski-Bajno, Assistant Director, PAFDC Kids. The Deputy Counsel General of the Republic of Poland, Tomasz Stachurksi, delivered remarks on behalf of the Counsel General, the Honorable Krzysztof W. Kasprzyk. Entertainment was provided by the Polish American Folk Dance Company Children’s Ensemble and the Slavic Arts Ensemble.

The ceremony in the courtroom was followed by a reception in the rotunda.
