Gary Parker, co-chair of Lambda Independent Democrats, Susan Summer Esq., senior counsel of Lambda Legal, and the Rainbow Heights Club will be recognized for their passion and work for visibility, community service, and equality in Brooklyn and the world at large.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature one-of-a-kind performances by recording artist Jeannie Sol, R & B singer Michael Ashanti, celebrity impersonator Howie V. Cher, and TV personality Clover Honey.
Brooklyn Borough Hall is the only civic building in New York City where the rainbow flag will fly in celebration of gay pride. On Saturday, June 9, Borough President Markowitz’s float will appear in the 11th annual Brooklyn LGBT Pride Night Parade, which kicks off at 8:30 pm from Prospect Park West and 15th Street. Earlier that day, at 3:00 p.m., Borough President Markowitz will present a proclamation to Brooklyn Pride.
