BP MARKOWITZ STATEMENT ON THE DEATH OF U.S. NAVY SAILOR JOSEPH ALOMAR

"Brooklyn extends its deepest condolences to the family of Petty Officer 2nd Class Joseph Alomar, 22, who was found dead at Camp Bucca, a military prison in southern Iraq on January 17. Alomar, of Cypress Hills, served in the Navy for three years and was due to finish his service in April. We mourn the passing of Petty Officer 2nd Class Alomar and honor the ultimate sacrifice that he has made for our nation. We grieve with his family and loved ones, and hope they will be comforted by the prayers and thoughts of millions of Brooklynites and all New Yorkers."
