BP MARKOWITZ STATEMENT ON THE ASSASSINATION OF FORMER PAKISTANI PRIME MINISTER BENAZIR BHUTTO

“I join the democracy-loving residents of Brooklyn, home to our nation’s largest Pakistani-American population, in mourning the death of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. The savage acts committed by the monsters responsible for today’s attack constitute an attempt to undermine the democratic process as well as the effort to fight terrorism wherever it exists. Swift justice must be brought against these cowardly assassins of Ms. Bhutto, a visionary leader whose memory should now serve as a rallying cry for democracy in Pakistan and all nations around the world.”
