On Friday, August 24, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, in partnership with the Department of Citywide Administrative Services will join New York City artist Mark A. Reigelman II to celebrate his “Stair Squares” art installation project on the front steps of Borough Hall. The “Stair Squares” project features a collection of site specific public furniture pieces on display from August 17th through August 26th. “Here at Borough Hall, we love our ‘front porch’ and our ‘piazza,’ and we’re thrilled that Mark Reigelman is giving our beautiful building’s classical grandeur a little bit of modern moxie,” said Borough President Markowitz.

The Center for Craft, Creativity and Design based in Henderson, NC is responsible for providing the funding, in partnership with fifty plus universities, to advance and nurture the development of innovative artists across the United States. Mr. Reigelman was one of ten graduating seniors who received a $15,000 Windgate Fellowship in 2006 for his conceptually unique proposal outlining the “Stair Squares” project.

Mark A. Reigelman II is a New York City based artist and designer whose body of work includes product, jewelry, interior and graphic design as well as architecture and creative consulting. Images of the “Stair Squares” and other projects by Reigelman can be found at www.reigelman.com.
