BP MARKOWITZ SET FOR BOROUGH’S BIGGEST
THANKSGIVING TURKEY GIVEAWAY

1,000 turkeys and 10 tons of trimmings to be distributed to Brooklyn community groups.

11:00 A.M.
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 20
BROOKLYN BOROUGH HALL PLAZA
209 JORALEMON STREET
BETWEEN COURT & ADAMS STREETS
DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN

On Monday, November 20, Borough Hall Plaza will be Thanksgiving central when Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz leads a legion of volunteers to give away 1,000 turkeys and 10 tons of trimmings to representatives of 90 Brooklyn community groups. The turkeys, sweet potatoes, apples, collard greens, and baking potatoes will be distributed to senior centers, soup kitchens, churches, and women’s shelters to provide Thanksgiving meals to Brooklynites who are most in need.

Borough President Markowitz has distributed Thanksgiving charity meals since beginning his career in public service, but this year’s event will be the largest yet. Thousands of needy Brooklynites will enjoy a bountiful Thanksgiving thanks to the generosity of several partners, including Health Plus, Fulton Mall Improvement Association, the Korean-American Brooklyn Association, N.Y. Inc., Fairway, Whole Foods Market, and Fresh Direct.
