On Thursday, May 25, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz provided breakfast to a group of cyclists who rode from Grand Army Plaza to Borough Hall as one of the 50 Brooklyn events of the 15th annual Bike Month NYC. Transportation Alternatives Deputy Director Noah Budnick presented Borough President Markowitz with the “Friend of Cyclists” award for his contributions to improving safety and convenience for Brooklyn cyclists. The ride was a great prelude to the “Tour de Brooklyn” which will take place Sunday, June 4. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. at Herbert Von King Park in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

“Brooklyn is a cyclists paradise, from circling the Prospect Park loop to crossing our beloved Brooklyn Bridge to accessing our beautiful waterfront to exploring our historic neighborhoods,” said Borough President Markowitz. “Brooklyn thanks Transportation Alternatives for improving cycling conditions in our borough and across New York City, so we can continue safely on the cycle of life.”
