BP MARKOWITZ ANNOUNCES BROOKLYN VACATION CONTEST
1:00 P.M.
TUESDAY, MAY 23
KEYSPAN PARK
1904 SURF AVENUE
CONEY ISLAND, BROOKLYN
Today , Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will join Brooklyn Brewery founder Steve Hindy at Keyspan Park, home of the Brooklyn Cyclones, to announce the second annual Brooklyn Vacation contest. This year’s Brooklyn Vacation will be bigger than ever and feature some of the great events and attractions that keep Brooklyn cool when the weather gets hot.
Instead of keeping the fun to ourselves, this year’s contest will be open to residents of New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey. Upstate New York winners will be flown to New York by JetBlue Airlines. On Saturday, August 26, 15 winners and their five guests will experience the life of a Brooklyn VIP, including a limo ride around the borough that features a stop at Brooklyn Brewery for a guided tour with brewmaster Garrett Oliver.
After sampling the handiwork at the brewery vacationers will be transported to Coney Island for VIP tours of the New York Aquarium and Coney Island, where they will head to the front of the line to challenge the world famous Cyclone Roller Coaster and Deno’s Wonder Wheel. Then it’s off to root for the home team as the Brooklyn Cyclones take the field at Keyspan Park.
At the ballpark, a winner will be drawn from among the 15 winners. The Grand Prize winner will receive a free Caribbean Vacation on Princess Cruise Lines, whose Crown Princess begins docking at the Brooklyn cruise terminal on Wednesday, June 14.
Brooklyn Vacation 2006 is sponsored by Brooklyn Brewery, Keyspan Energy, JetBlue, and Brooklyn Tourism.
