BP MARKOWITZ PACKS PASSPORT FOR
BROOKLYN CULTURAL CIRCUIT ATTRACTIONS

5:00 P.M.
WEDNESDAY, MAY 3
BROOKLYN BOROUGH HALL ROTUNDA
209 JORALEMON STREET
BETWEEN COURT & ADAMS STREETS
DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN

On Wednesday, May 3, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will join the 6 museums, 3 historic houses, one cemetery, and one waterfront barge of the Brooklyn Cultural Circuit to launch its Passport Program, a new effort to increase visitors to unique Brooklyn attractions.

Passports are available at all Circuit sites or at the Brooklyn Tourism & Visitors Center at Borough Hall.
Holders can get their passport stamped at each participating site, and those who visit at least eight Circuit attractions by December 1, 2006, will be eligible for great prizes and a free t-shirt.

Brooklyn Cultural Circuit members include: the Brooklyn Historical Society, the Coney Island Museum, the Doll and Toy Museum of NYC, the Green-Wood Cemetery, the Micro Museum, the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts (MOCADA), the New York Transit Museum, the Old Stone House, the Waterfront Museum, the Weeksville Heritage Center, and the Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum.

Each Circuit member is a not-for-profit organization with a permanent collection of historic objects, providing educational and cultural programming in neighborhoods throughout Brooklyn. The Circuit was formed in 2004 to promote tourism, share resources, and provide a forum on topics important to cultural organizations in Brooklyn.

The Passport Program is being launched in partnership with Courier-Life Publications, with a grant from Independence Community Foundation.

For additional information about the Passport Program, please visit www.brooklynculturalcircuit.org.
