AL GREEN KICKS OFF 28th ANNUAL SEASIDE CONCERT SERIES ON JULY 13TH

Free shows in Brighton Beach-Coney Island feature the B-52’s, Julio Iglesias,
Liza Minnelli, and Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons

If you love music, you’re in luck, because the annual Seaside Summer Concert Series—hosted by Borough President Marty Markowitz at Asser Levy Seaside Park in Brighton Beach-Coney Island—is kicking off its 28th season July 13 with the incomparable Al Green. The fun continues each Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. through August 24. All performances are free and open to the public.

The artists at this year’s concerts represent every musical style under the sun, from the world’s greatest party band, the B-52’s, to a trip back in time for “Hippiefest.” Seaside also welcomes back the glamorous Liza Minnelli, Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, and after a three year delay caused by the blackout of ’03 the voice of romance, Julio Iglesias. And don’t miss Victor Manuelle and the Queen of Reggaeton, Ivy Queen, at this year’s “Salsa by the Sea” show.

July 20 –Rock n’ Roll Hall of Famers Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons—back for the 5th time—with special guest Stewie Stone
July 27 – Enjoy the Romance: An Evening with Julio Iglesias
August 3 – “Hippiefest”: Dr. Hook, Country Joe McDonald, Rare Earth, Terry Sylvester, Mitch Ryder, Joey Molland, and Mountain featuring Leslie West and Corky Laing
August 10 – The World’s Greatest Party Band—The B-52’s
August 17 – Back by Popular Demand: An Evening with Liza Minnelli
August 24 – Salsa by the Sea: Victor Manuelle and Ivy Queen, “The Queen of Reggaeton”

Asser Levy Park is located at West 5th Street and Surf Avenue in Brighton Beach, opposite the New York Aquarium. The public can bring their own chairs or rent chairs for $5 in a special designated area ($10 on 7/13, 7/27, 8/10, and 8/17). Performers are subject to change without notice.
