BOROUGH PRESIDENT MARKOWITZ OPENS HIS SECOND TERM BROOKLYN-STYLE

7:00 P.M.
THURSDAY, JANUARY 26
BROOKLYN TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL
29 FORT GREENE PLACE
BETWEEN LAFAYETTE AVENUE AND DEKALB AVENUE
BROOKLYN

On Thursday, January 26, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will deliver his 2006 inaugural address, along with special guests, at Brooklyn Tech. Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg will officiate the oath of office. The reception, before the program, begins at 6:00 p.m. The inauguration in true Brooklyn-style will feature special guests such as Cousin Brucie Morrow, Grammy-winning recording artist Stephanie Mills, the “Calypso King of the World” Mighty Sparrow and others. Marty’s campaign commercial, set to the William Tell Overture, will be screened. Celebrities with ties to Brooklyn will offer video greetings and at the end of the address balloons will drop from the ceiling onto the stage.

During his inaugural address the Borough President will focus on the accomplishments of the past year, discuss his plans for Brooklyn in 2006 and beyond, and honor the achievements of many individual residents who have made Brooklyn proud.
