On Thursday, August 24, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz celebrated the completion of a job well done when he welcomed Summer HEAT (Help Employ Ambitious Teens) participants and employers to Borough Hall to congratulate them.
With summer winding to a close, Borough President Markowitz and the scores of employers and students gathered to put the finishing touches on the fifth successful year of the Summer HEAT program, an initiative that encourages Brooklyn businesses to employ more of the city’s promising teenagers.
When Brooklyn businesses invest in the borough’s teenagers, everyone wins – employers get eager and ambitious young people to pitch in during the summer months, and Brooklyn’s future professionals gain valuable experience to propel them toward greater success as working adults.
