On Monday, September 26, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz joined Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Senator Hillary Clinton and other officials to celebrate Fort Hamilton’s 228 new housing units for military families.
“As borough president, it is always my top priority to ensure that every Brooklynite has a roof over their head that they can afford,” said Markowitz. “This is especially true for the honorable men and women who I am proud to call Brooklynites. So I want to thank all those who worked together to make the construction and renovation of these 228 homes at Fort Hamilton possible.”
The U.S. Army Garrison at Fort Hamilton developed the new housing units in partnership with GMH Housing and the New York City Housing Development Corporation.
