BROOKLYN BOROUGH PRESIDENT’S STATEMENT ON THE LOSS OF ROSA PARKS

“Brooklyn mourns the loss of Rosa Parks. Ms. Parks inspired the nation and the world to turn the tide of hate and racial inequality and to stand firm in the fight for justice and equal rights. Rosa Parks is a true legend and her refusal to give up her seat is an act that will always stand tall — today and for generations to come. In Brooklyn, where so many cultures and nationalities live side by side, every day we honor Rosa Park’s courage by continuing to work together as neighbors and live out her message that all humankind is created equally. We will miss Rosa deeply, but her spirit will forever light our soul and our hearts.”
