On Wednesday, March 23 Borough President Marty Markowitz joined generous Brooklynites to enjoy a benefit performance of “Brooklyn Boy” at the Biltmore Theatre. “Best of Brooklyn,” a non-profit with Borough President Markowitz serving as its ho norary chair, hosted the Broadway benefit and proceeds from the fabulous night will support the non-profit’s Camp Brooklyn program.

Borough President Markowitz launches his fourth season of Camp Brooklyn this summer, sending Brooklyn children to camp for two weeks and giving them the opportunity to experience the great outdoors. Last summer, Camp Brooklyn sent 202 children for two-week stays at camps in beautiful upstate New York. Once again, Marty is seeking to double that number. Since January special benefits including two Chinese New Year’s banquets and Wednesday’s “Brooklyn Boy” performance have raised funds to provide full scholarships for 75 campers. Donations from generous individuals, families, and businesses are needed to send even more kids to camp.
