“As the proud home to everyone from everywhere, Brooklynites know a thing or two about harmony. And, Brooklynites are also experts in the other kind of harmony — the kind that swings,” said Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz. “Brooklyn has a rich jazz legacy that allows us to toot our own horn as the musical and creative capital of New York City, and all of America. In the old days, Harlem was the first home of jazz, now, with the Central Brooklyn Jazz Fest, we’re giving a whole new meaning to “Take the A Train” — to Brooklyn!”

On Thursday, March 24, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz joined the Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium to announce the 6th Annual Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival. The Festival will be on March 30 - April 30 at jazz venues around Brooklyn, including the Sugarhill Supper Club. The theme of this year’s festival is Drop Me Off in Brooklyn.
