MARKOWITZ STATEMENT ON THE END OF THE STRIKE

“On behalf of all Brooklynites, I commend the MTA and the TWU for putting the public first as they head in the right direction toward completing a contract. The personal and economic hardship caused by this strike has been significant and unacceptable, so I am thrilled that our buses and trains will soon be back on track. With the help of the mediation team, I am confident that the MTA and the TWU can and will reach an equitable settlement. I thank Brooklynites and New Yorkers for their determination and resilience in helping us get through this challenging time.”
