MARKOWITZ GREETS COMMUTERS ON THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE

On Tuesday, December 20, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz welcomed walkers and cyclists back to Brooklyn as they traveled across the Brooklyn Bridge and continued along their journey home. He encouraged commuters to come to Borough Hall if they needed a rest, for a cup of coffee or tea, a phone or a bathroom.

“Despite the strike, Brooklyn residents are doing their best to help each other and go about their business,” said Borough President Marty Markowitz. “Most of those who walk or cycle over the Brooklyn Bridge to get home will go right by Brooklyn’s City Hall, so I want to do anything I possibly can to make their commute a little more comfortable.  After all, Borough Hall belongs to all Brooklynites.  It’s only right that we open our doors as wide as we can in challenging times.”
