On Wednesday, August 25, Brooklyn Borough President
Marty Markowitz joined Danny Simmons and musical artists Jungli
and Shrine for the Black Madonna to kick off the first Brooklyn
New Music Fest, a four-day live-music series in Fort Greene,
Clinton Hill, Williamsburg, Bedford-Stuyvesant and Park Slope.
The festival will run from Thursday, September 16, through Sunday,
September 19.
“Brooklyn
is the arts and culture capital of New York City, and the Brooklyn
New Music Fest proves that once again,” said Borough President
Markowitz. “We are proud to support and celebrate Brooklyn’s
local music scene and encourage all Brooklynites and out-of-towners
living in the Bronx, Queens, Manhattan and Staten Island, to
come and experience the sounds of this unique festival.”
Festival
sponsors/partners include Borough President Marty Markowitz,
Brooklyn Brewery, Forest City Ratner, Pratt Institute and NRG
Magazine. For more information on the festival visit www.seedsandbones.com.
