On March 5th, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz
joined Principal Margo Collins and students at Brooklyn’s
P.S. 45 for their Annual African American program, entitled “I
am Africa.”
The annual program celebrates African-American history and recognizes
the historical and contemporary contributions and achievements
of African Americans in every aspect of American culture, with
a series of musical and theatrical performances by P.S. 45 students.
“Every year we proudly celebrate
Black History Month in honor of the many outstanding contributions
and accomplishments of our heroes of African descent,” said
Borough President Markowitz. “I applaud the students of
P.S. 45 for their observance with this wonderful event.”
