BROOKLYN BOROUGH PRESIDENT MARTY MARKOWITZ HONORS BROOKLYN VETERANS AND MEMBERS OF THE ARMED SERVICES AT THE 137TH ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY PARADE

Borough President Markowitz leads members of the United States Army and the New York City Police Department at the 137th Annual Memorial Day Parade.

On Monday, May 31st, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz joined the Kings County Memorial Day Parade Committee and the United War Veterans of Kings County in honoring the men and women of the United States Armed Forces at the 137th Annual Memorial Day Parade.

Borough President Markowitz, who served as Honorary Chairman for the parade, issued a proclamation in honor of the commemoration, and applauded the efforts of the courageous men and women who respond to the call of duty and defend our democracy.

The parade, which travels through Bay Ridge ending at the Reviewing Stand in John Paul Jones Park, is renowned as the oldest consecutively held Memorial Day parade in the United States.
