Borough President Markowitz applauds the efforts of Run Against Bush members as they complete their Brooklyn Bridge run.

On Sunday, July 25th, Borough President Marty Markowitz welcomed members of Run Against Bush to Brooklyn as they completed their run across the Brooklyn Bridge.

Run Against Bush is a grassroots volunteer organization that is dedicated to encouraging people to run in road races and informal runs across the country to collectively voice their dissatisfaction with the Bush administration. The non-partisan organization was founded by a group of teachers, civil servants, non-profit and private sector professionals. Proceeds from their runs and events are donated to organizations that support their cause, including swing state Democratic organizations, the Democratic National Convention, organizations that work to get out the vote, and media campaigns in swing states.

The run began at City Hall and culminated on the Brooklyn side of the Brooklyn Bridge. Following the run, a celebration was held at the 68 Jay Street Bar.
