On Wednesday, December 1, Deputy Brooklyn Borough
President Yvonne Graham joined Developer Bruce Ratner, MetroTech
Business Improvement District (BID) President Victoria Aviles,
MetroTech BID Executive Director Michael Weiss, House of the
Lord Church Pastor Reverend Herbert Daughtry, Community Board
2 Chairperson Shirley Ann McRae, and Assemblyperson Clarence
Norman and others on the MetroTech Commons in Downtown Brooklyn
for the 14th Annual MetroTech Tree Lighting Ceremony.
“The
winter holidays are a time of family, miracles, serenity and
delight,” said Deputy Borough President Graham. “It
is the perfect time for us to join together to celebrate our
joy, and reaffirm our commitment to fostering peace and unity
at home in Brooklyn and around the world. I wish you all health
and happiness this holiday season, and in the coming new year.”
The
tree lighting ceremony included a riveting performance by 9-year-old
singer Alessandra Guercio, the fanfare of The Brass Menagerie,
and the cheerful caroling of the All City High School Chorus.
