Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz and New York City Council Speaker Gifford Miller applaud Little League players as they celebrate the start of the season.

On Saturday, April 3rd, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz joined other elected officials, Little League officials and players in the Prospect Park Little League Parade.

The annual event started with a ceremonial ball toss that kicked off the baseball season and was followed by a parade.

Prospect Park has more than one dozen ball fields that are used by a variety of athletic teams throughout the season. The Little League Baseball games are coordinated by Prospect Park Baseball, a partnership of the Prospect Park Alliance, the City of New York Parks and Recreation Department and community members. The organization represents more than 2,500 young baseball players.
