STATEMENT BY BOROUGH PRESIDENT MARKOWITZ ON THE DEATH OF BROOKLYN'S OWN MARINE LANCE CPL. WILLIAM WHITE “All of Brooklyn is mourning the death of Marine Lance Corporal William White from Bushwick, who was killed Friday in a vehicle accident in Iraq. Corporal White, 24, was supposed to be discharged next February, and he planned on coming back home to work in law enforcement or join the Fire Department. He is a hero to his family, Brooklyn and our entire country. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, Mychelle, and his entire family during this incredibly difficult time. For all other Brooklyn families with loved ones fighting for our country in the Middle East, we hope and pray that this tragedy is never repeated.” |
