Borough President Marty Markowitz and children from the Parks Department’s Brownsville Playschool got the water flowing again today at the Cadman Plaza Fountain outside of Borough Hall. The fountain has been turned off for the last two years due to the recent drought.

“I am delighted that all of the snow and rain we’ve endured this year is finally paying dividends. We have no drought on the horizon and can once again enjoy the sights and sounds of New York City’s many beautiful and historic fountains,” Borough President Markowitz said. “Throughout the spring, summer, and fall, the Cadman Plaza Fountain will attract the thousands of Brooklynites and visitors who pass through the plaza to rest in its shadows and enjoy the beautiful flowers that will soon be in bloom here.”

In celebration of New York City fountain day, all City fountains were turned on today at noon.
