BOROUGH PRESIDENT WELCOMES LOCAL STUDENTS TO BROOKLYN'S CITY HALL

Photograph by Sarah Liriano

On January 13, Borough President Mary Markowitz welcomed an inquisitive group of second graders from the Packard Collegiate Institute to Borough Hall. The 60 students are studying about City government and the roles of the five boroughs. The Borough President talked about all of the functions of his office, and encouraged the children to be active participants in the political process. "You are the future of Brooklyn, New York City and America," Borough President Markowitz said. "You are lucky to live in the most exciting city in the world, and you should learn all you can about how our great City operates. Never forget that, if you work hard enough, absolutely anything is possible!"
