Do You Have What It Takes to Make Brooklyn’s Best Egg Cream?

The Borough President is looking for the top Egg Cream in Brooklyn!

Do you love making Brooklyn’s world famous Egg Creams? Well now is your chance to show you have what it takes to be the best because Borough President Marty Markowitz is hosting an Egg Cream Extravaganza at Noon on August 26th at Borough Hall Plaza.

"Everybody knows that the best place in the world to get a great egg cream is in Brooklyn. But it is time to settle, once and for all, who makes the best egg cream. And I can’t wait to taste every single one of them!" said the Borough President.

If you are a restaurant, ice cream parlor, deli or luncheonette in Brooklyn that makes egg creams you are invited to participate in this contest. There will be two categories: traditional or nouveau egg creams. There is no fee to participate. A panel of judges is being convened including Mr. Brooklyn, Marty Markowitz, and other notable Brooklynites.

If you would like to volunteer to be on the judging panel or to obtain a participation form for your restaurant, deli, ice cream fountain or luncheonette please call Eileen Newman in Special Events at Borough Hall at 718-802-3806. We are especially looking for the oldest Brooklynite who wants to be on the panel!

We are also encouraging Brooklynites to join the fun on August 26th. There’ll be plenty of Brooklyn’s official drink to sample and egg cream trivia prizes for the audience.

Among the restaurants, ice cream parlors and delis already participating in the event are Archives – New York Marriott Brooklyn, Ben & Jerry’s, Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, Dizzy’s, Hinsch’s, Hope & Anchor, Junior’s, Rice, Relish, Tom’s & Uncle Louie Gi’s.

Sponsors include Fox's U Bet Chocolate Flavor Syrup.
