SALVATION ARMY LAUNCHES ANNUAL BROOKLYN CHRISTMAS KETTLE KICK-OFF AT BOROUGH HALL TO HELP RAISE MONEY DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON

Deputy Borough President Yvonne Graham joined the Salvation Army today in launching the 2002 Brooklyn Christmas Kettle Kick-Off.

“For more than 100 years, Brooklyn’s contributions to the kettles have enabled the Salvation Army to bring the spirit of Christmas to those who would otherwise be forgotten,” said Deputy Borough President Graham. “On behalf of all of the people of Brooklyn, I thank the volunteers of the Salvation Army for their dedication, not only during the holiday season, but throughout the year. Please be generous when you are out holiday shopping for your loved ones and see a Salvation Army kettle. Together, we can ensure that every Brooklynite will have a Thanksgiving and a Christmas dinner. The Borough President and I wish all of you a happy and healthy holiday season.”

The Salvation Army operates more centers and programs in Brooklyn than anywhere else in the Army’s entire 14 county Greater New York Division.
